Me and Kenny

So anyway, this wedding was back to what I do best, music. Charles wanted
me to play I Just Want To Be Where You Are while they greeted the parents.
Anyway, I've mentioned this before but I'm somewhat of a music Nazi with
these things, especially if it's just me. So like, I spent an evening
figuring out exactly how Don Moen plays it. Sometimes playing it exactly
the same is good, sometimes it's bad. I think I already mentioned the
Just Let Me Say thing. But a lot of the time, most of the time, it's
better than how you'd play just screwing around, so personally I think
it's worth the time spent figuring it out. I dunno, just me, I'm big on
doing things the best way for someone's wedding, music wise. The other
thing is, you learn a lot musically when you stretch yourself to figure
out what other people play instead of playing in a way you already know,
if that makes any sense.
The thing is, there was no singing for when I was playing and that changes
things up a bit. Just, it sounds weird playing just the accompaniment
without the melody. It sounds weird switching off playing the melody
sometimes and not other times. To me. So my thing is, if it's just you
playing, you have to play the entire melody, at least the first time
through. But then you can't play it like the recording. So there's a give
and take. Whatever, this is boring, but yeah, I think I reached a happy
medium.
Uh, what does this have to do with the picture? Oh yeah, Eugenie played
also so we all were there early. So this is me and Kenny chatting before
the wedding.
