organic strawberries that Whole Foods Market distributes. They are just located along the coast close to the border of Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties.

Cherries

• For cherries, the reason they are grown in Brentwood is because they need the cool nights and cooler day temperatures that the delta offers. They don’t do so well in the blistering heat of the other parts of the Sacramento Valley. They used to grow cherries right here in Sunnyvale, but this other industry you are very familiar with came in and bought up all the land and built office buildings and cities and stuff. I don’t think you’ll find cherries closer than Brentwood.
