Vito's

  • Vito's in Sunnyvale (lawrence & reed) -- haven't been in a few years, but classic NY Pizza.
  • Vito's is the closest I ever came.

Giovanni's

Giovanni's on Lawrence is pretty good, and they do by the slice.

Amici's

Amici's is the closest I've seen here. It's actually pretty good. Very thin crust, toppings are plentiful.....

Mario's

I really enjoy Mario's on Leong Drive in Mountain View. They are only open a few nights a week though. Thurs-Sat I think...

East Bay

Arinell

Arinell in Berkeley is supposed to come pretty close.

Lanesplitter

Gioia Pizza

A16

A16 on Chestnut in San Francisco has incredible pizza that they make in a hot brick oven for a thin, somewhat blackened bottom crust, resulting in a very authentic NY/Italian style pizza.

Toto’s pizza

There’s a place that originated out of Brooklyn about 40 years ago and first opened up shops in SF and Daly City. Those have since closed but there are 2 more, one in Belmont and another in San Bruno. The place is called Toto’s pizza. I think it’s the best I’ve eaten anywhere and I’ve lived here all my life.

Marcello's

Marcello's in the Castro comes close... depending on which chef you get.
