Alexander's Steakhouse
- There is exquisite prime rib at Alexander's Steakhouse.
- There's a new steakhouse at Vallco Shopping Center (where the El Torito used to be) called Alexander's Steak House. My wife and I went there last month. The food was pretty good. A little pricey, but good.
Morton’s
- Morton’s in the city is really good.
- I heard that this place is really good for prime rib too, even though it's a steak house, but they have really good prime rib as well.
- Morton's is a natural choice which does a really nice prime rib and rib eye; even the filet is great. Don't hesitate with the sides here, they're all good. I usually skip dessert after 30-40oz. of corn-fed prime.
Forbes Mill Steakhouse
I have a friend that works at Forbes Mill Steakhouse in Los Gatos. I've also heard good things about this place from other friends. I haven't had a chance to go there yet.
Spencer's
- 1 place. There’s a Spencers in the Double Tree Inn off of 101 and Brokaw. It’s not like Outback, it’s a very formal place, but the steaks are cooked to perfection.
Ruth’s Chris
is good. There’s one in SF and one in Walnut Creek.
Bold Knight
My parents are steak lovers, very picky, and always go to Bold Knight in San Jose.
Broadway Prime
there is one in burlingame on broadway. i think it is called broadway prime. it is very similar to house of prime rib. someone told me that the person who started it came from house of primerib.
Sundance Steakhouse
Sundance Steakhouse in Palo Alto is my fave. Great steaks, prime rib, seafood... appetizers like the crab cakes and filet mignon spring rolls are really yummy. Great ambiance, too.
The Grill at the Fairmont
On Sunday nights, Prime Rib at "The Grill" in The Fairmont Hotel, downtown San Jose. Huge serving - really good.
McCormick & Schmick's
MacArthur Park
in Palo Alto
The Los Altos Grill
(formerly Bandera) on San Antonio has GREAT prime rib!
CATS
I can’t remember if they have prime rib here but if he is a carnivore, he would love a place called CATS in Los Gatos. It is right off of 17 at: 17533 Santa Cruz Hwy Los Gatos, CA 95033-9101 (408) 354-4020
Alfred's
Alfred's sides are hit and miss, but the beef is great and very char-broiled. Come for the atmosphere and make sure and try the Caesar salad. It's tough to park here, plan on using the valet.
