Danny ChaiI hate popular music nowadays. I’ve been listening to a little bit of the top 100 songs for the past few years and afterwards I feel like I need to drink a glass of Softsoap, cleanse my soul. Bleah. Why does everything have to be about sex and guns? I read some stat, I think in Harper’s Index, saying how of all the songs that appeared in the weekly Top 20 list last year, 50% mentioned weapons. Ridiculous.
The alt-rock’s not much better, it’s all so whiny. Somebody please find a way to produce authentic music without being profane or self-absorbed. We’re living in a musical nadir.
