Danny ChaiI’m against giving up things for Lent. Not really, just a little bit. I dunno, I was reading this article in the Merc written by some Catholic priest and he was saying how the spirit of Lent can get lost in the giving up thing. It’s not about sacrifice, it’s about preparation, he says, and that’s the most important thing.
And I dunno, not saying CFC is like this per se, but other people when they only focus on the sacrifice part of Lent, it’s not good. You know how Mardi Gras started, right? It’s the last period before Lent. The idea is, you live it up and go crazy and indulge in pleasures right before you have to give up stuff for Lent.
