Another one of those surveys. Whatever, I’ve done thousands of them but
Jieun sent it to me so here it is.
- LIVING ARRANGEMENTS? – married, 2 bed, 2 bath apartment in Sunnyvale
- WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW? American Pastoral, by Philip Roth.
- WHAT’S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD? No mouse pad. We use a Logitech optical
mouse directly on the desk. At work I use one of those pads with the wrist
rest. Again, no logo or anything. - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOARD GAME? Trivial Pursuit. And Bohnanza if
that counts as a board game. - FAVORITE MAGAZINE? Christianity Today and Newsweek.
- FAVORITE SMELLS? Jieun. Also baked bread.
- FAVORITE SOUNDS? Honestly, most sounds annoy me. I’m just sensitive to
noise and sound, so if it’s enough to register, it’s probably annoying to
me. Are there any mellifluous sounds? Dunno. I’m thinking and can come up
with a bunch of sounds that annoy me, but nothing that’s my “favorite”. - WHAT IS THE WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD? Hurting someone you love and
feeling like complete crap. - WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
How much longer I can sleep before it reaches ludicrous stage. I wake up
about 5 minutes after that point. - ROLLER COASTER, SCARY OR EXCITING? Exciting. Although, the last time I
went to an amusement park, my neck started hurting after certain rides.
I’m getting old. - HOW MANY RINGS BEFORE YOU ANSWER THE PHONE? If I’m close, I’ll answer
after one ring. If I’m not, I’m frequently too lazy to pick it up at all. - FUTURE DAUGHTER’S NAME? Either Delilah or Jezebel. Just kidding.
I haven’t thought about it. Is that bad? I’ve thought a lot about what to
name a son but not a daughter. I dunno, I always liked the name Gloria,
not sure why. It won’t be Kaitlyn or Madison, though. Or Karis. Too
trendy. - FUTURE SON’S NAME? I always wanted “Stone”. Like Stone Phillips, late
of 20/20 and Dateline NBC. Not because I like Phillips; I just like
“Stone”. It’s just manly, and better than Rock, since Rock Hudson was gay.
Not that I’m against gays, I just happen to not be one. Anyway, I’d like
to use a Biblical name, one whose meaning I like. I currently like Yeshua,
or Joshua (or Jesus) a lot – “God saves”. I dunno, I have visions of my
son bringing many people to Christ and stuff. But then Joshua is one of
the most common baby names nowadays, and I’d like my son to have a less
common name. But call him Yeshua and he’ll get beat up by his classmates.
So, I don’t know. - WHAT IS IMPORTANT IN LIFE? To love and be loved by God. That’s more
important than being used by God. Rich Mullins said something like that
once. - FAVORITE FOODS? Sushi, soba, curry rice, tofu stew, good pizza. I
dunno, I like a lot of foods, it would take too long to name them all. - CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA? Hmm, depends. By itself, chocolate. But with
other foods, vanilla. - FAVORITE SONGS? Love That Will Not Let Me Go, by Steve Camp. Has been
for a long time, and I don’t think it will change. It moves me like no
other song. - FAVORITE VACATION SPOT? I haven’t vacationed much, but I loved Tahiti.
Ridiculously beautiful and opulent, at least our accommodations. I’d love
to go back. - DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE FAST? Yes, but only in the name of efficiency.
If it’s time efficient to drive fast, I will. But that balances with gas
efficiency. So I never accelerate super fast because that negatively
affects your mileage. I dunno, that’s how I drive. - DO YOU SLEEP WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL? No. I tried to get into that once
but it’s just not me. Too fem if you ask me. - IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE DECISION YOU’VE MADE: I’m actually very happy
with my life, so there’s nothing big. Maybe some relationship type
decisions I’ve made in the past. - WHAT TYPE WAS YOUR FIRST CAR 1982 Datsun Sentra. 2 Door, dull yellow.
A dream machine. - YOU COULD MEET ONE PERSON DEAD OR ALIVE WHO WOULD IT BE? The obvious
but genuine answer is Jesus Christ. Although in a sense you could say I
already have met him. If not him, I want to say St. John. It would be
great to meet the Apostle of Love. Geez, too holy an answer. If not either
of them, I’d go with Leonardo da Vinci. A true Renaissance man. - WHAT IS YOUR ZODIAC SIGN? Pisces / Dragon
- DO YOU EAT THE STEM OF BROCCOLI? Usually, unless it’s super tough. I
remember doing this in Korea and they thought I was insane. - YOU COULD HAVE ANY JOB YOU WANTED WHAT WOULD IT BE? A rock star.
- IF YOU COULD DYE YOUR HAIR ANY COLOR? Dark dark purple – almost black.
- NOTTING HILL, AMERICAN PIE OR SIXTH SENSE? This is a joke, right? Who
wouldn’t choose Sixth Sense? One of my top 15 movies. - ARE YOU A LEFTY OR A RIGHTY? Righty
- WHAT’S UNDER YOUR BED? Luggage, a small vacuum, and spare blankets
- WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NUMBER? 18.
- FAVORITE COLOR? I used to be a green man, but now I don’t know. I wear
a lot of blue so maybe it’s blue. But no strong preference. - FAVORITE ANIMALS: dogs, then cats. As pets, at least. To see, I find
fish fascinating. - FAVORITE SPORT TO WATCH: football, then basketball, then baseball.
Then hockey. - SAY ONE NICE THING ABOUT THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU: I want to
spend the rest of my life with her. - PERSON YOU SENT THIS TO WHO IS MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND I highly doubt
anyone will respond. Too many of these have gone out. - PERSON(S) WHOM YOU SENT THIS TO WHO IS LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND? A big
tie among everyone who reads this page. - PERSON WHOSE RESPONSE YOU LOOK FORWARD TO READING THE MOST? I would be
fascinated to read Scott Kim’s response to these. Actually, maybe any only
child’s response. They just have a different perspective. But yeah, they
don’t read this, and even if they did, they wouldn’t respond. - FAVORITE QUOTES: “Brandon, run!”
- PARENTS NAMES: Young and Haisoon
- NAME AS IT APPEARS ON YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE? Daniel Sunil Chai
- NICKNAME: DCFlyness. Or DCFly. Exactly one person in the world really
calls me that: myself. - EYE COLOR: dark brown
- HAIR COLOR: black.
- LOVED SOMEBODY SO MUCH IT MADE YOU CRY? yes
- BEEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT Yes. But never with a moving object. I’ve hit a
concrete pole, ran over a divider, and hit a non-moving car. Ooh, I
actually did hit a moving car once. I was in high school and I parked on
the side of the road in front of the house. In California winters it gets
frosty but never snows, so yeah, we get frost all over our windows.
Anyway, I was typically late and what I usually did was roll down the
windows (even though freezing), blast the defrost and drive off. I’d be
blind until it started melting, so I’d look out the driver side window.Anyway, to pull out I had to do a 180, so I did my normal 180, but this
one day I ended up hitting a car across the street and lifting it up by a
corner. I was just shocked that a car was there, but like I said, I drove
blind and doing a 180 blind, that’s a risk you take. Anyway, imagine a car
halfway in the driveway – I had hit it on the right rear and lifted it up.The thing is, I thought I must have hit it while it was pulling out and I
was doing my 180. As it turns out, I hit it on the way in. I dunno, the
driver must have thought I was crazy. But yeah, it was a stupid accident.
But I haven’t been involved in an accident since high school. - FAVORITE FLOWERS: I know almost nothing about flowers. I like single
long stem roses I guess. To give, not to get. - PREFERRED TYPE OF ICE CREAM: Pralines N’ Cream.
- FAVORITE SESAME STREET CHARACTER: Kermit the Frog.
- DISNEY OR WARNER BROS: Disney
- CONVICTED OF A CRIME? Not yet.
