They had free cholesterol tests at work today, so I took one. My cholesterol level: 254. According to the American Heart Association – “240 mg/dL and over: High Risk – People who have a total cholesterol level of 240 mg/dL or more typically have twice the risk of coronary heart disease as people whose cholesterol level is desirable (200 mg/dL).” Gadzooks. Reading that totally freaked me out. Perhaps that two-year long period of eating whole milk yogurt every day was a bad idea.
You know, I really appreciate loyalty. A friend once told me how they used Yahoo! 360 as their blog platform because I worked there. Honestly, I was moved by that, especially since 360 was/is so crappy. And I know tons of people have been joining Facebook despite lots of personal reservations. Even Dong started an account he never ever uses. It means a great deal to me.
That said, I’m against making people feel obligated, so don’t. My thing is, make it attractive enough for people to use it, don’t guilt them into it. Over the long term, only the first will be successful. This goes for anything, even church, small group, men’s group, whatever.
So yeah, I value loyalty, and I also value keeping it real. So like when Norm uses Facebook to lambaste Facebook, that’s good stuff.
