High Beams and Traffic Signals

It’s time to put this rumor to rest. So many people (strangely, mostly from SoCal) insist that if, at an empty traffic signal, you flash your highbeams, they will change quicker. Even when shown empirically that it doesn’t work, they insist it does in SoCal. Anyway, this article confirms that it’s untrue. Mr. Roadshow in the Merc also had an article on this a few weeks back. But yeah, flashing your high beams will not make the light change any faster. So stop it.
